i adore this game, and i have a great time whenever i play it, but i cannot for the life of me figure out where the last cassette (the one between "only options" and "tesso tesso tesso" in the club) is. any hints?

nvm found it

Hey, can u please tell me how you found it? I'm also stuck. Also, do u know if there's anything else to be found besides cassette tapes, maneki nekos and bones? Is there other outfits besides the one in the temple?

oh jeez... it's been a bit, i'm not sure i remember. if i do, i'll let you know tho! there are a couple of other things to find; the people in the village will tell you about them (iirc it's a hat, a scale, some papers, and one other thing but i don't remember what). there's only the one outfit afaik

oh ok, thanks!

no prob! i still don't remember where that cassette was, but i vaguely recall having found someone on youtube who posted a guide on how to find stuff, if that helps

MEOW!

I still listen to the bgm files from this game sometimes tbh, I liked them so much 'XD You could probably get a few sales from its OST, like Undertale did.

hey there! I think this game, from the music to the characters to the gameplay itself, is a great charming gem of a world that I wish at the very least had 40 reviews on steam. a lot of love must have gone into it and it shows!

in fact I like it so much I speedran it this last week+ and you should know it still rules to play even in just 20 minutes. I think you'll like(?) how Tanuki Town (aside from a lil lapse in judgment at the end) and especially Giri Giri look in their current forms. aside from one other person's run 3 years ago there is no community unfortunately but with any luck the world at large will catch on one day. thanks again for a sweet game!

Oh wow, this speedrun is amazing! The skip in Giri Giri Pass was unexpected but very clever how you got under the crate to use the pushable object jump bug . I also hope one day there's a community, I really want to see a lowest coin total run. But thank you so much for playing the game.

Really nice game! Runs perfectly (as far as I can tell) in WINE on Linux

I got the game from the itch.io where to find the steam key?

Hi, when did you purchase the game on itch.io? Did you receive it as part of the equality bundle?

Platformer that gives me strong Goemon vibes with its japanese folklore theme, in which you are supposed to avoid coins instead of collecting them. The gameplay mechanic seems a bit gimmicky at first, but once you understand that you can just do 2 runs for each level (one without coins, one with), the game becomes less cumbersome and more fun to explore. Add a variety of fun characters, great art style, good music and a ton of secrets. Initial gameplay confusion aside, this is very good stuff and reminds me a lot of classic SNES platformers. 4,5/5

I've been following your progress through all the games on Resetera.  Thanks for taking the time to write a review of each one.

Found this game through the Bundle for Racial Justice and Equality and fell in love with it! The music, characters, art, and puzzles were all incredible. As a long time fan of platformers it really pushed me to think in new and different ways. Enjoyably challenging, but rarely frustrating. If you want to play something charming and new, grab this game!

I really like this game. It took me back to that feeling of when I was 12 or so, spending the night downloading a ton of snes roms very slowly since my dial up connection could not get it together, and then the next morning I would pick some random games out of the bunch to test them out. Rising Dusk is that weird one that ends up sticking with you though. I even wish I could play it in japanese just so I could also recreate the vibe of not understanding a single word but still being completely absorbed by the cute art, music and the cool gameplay ideas you can piece together just by messing with it. Good job.

Softlocks in a big dungeon kind area is the worst to happen in a puzzle game.

There’s a boss battle where you have to do one thing three times in a row without a single mistake, and then I couldn’t see where to go, exited the dungeon only to find out all the progress in the area was wiped out.

Started playing it because it looked fun on a stream, but I don’t want to continue playing this game anymore.

This is frustrating, in a way a puzzle game shouldn’t be.

Hint: in that dungeon there is a map, if you pick it up you can access it by hitting pause button. :)

Also try to return to where you encounter the boss "first". :)

Of all the games added to the BLM bundle, Rising Dusk was among the ones I was most excited to see, and from what I played it absolutely does not disappoint. It's incredibly charming and the music in particular is very striking with its moody, surreal atmosphere. I hope you consider releasing the soundtrack separately so that I can support your work directly!

(+2)

Thank you. That means a lot. I am hoping to release the soundtrack soon.

Any plans for a Linux version? If not, it will probably work well under WINE regardless. I'm just curious.

(+1)

At this stage probably not . Let me know how it runs in WINE though.

Good job completing your game! I remember seeing it back before you tried for KS funding. Always cool to see a game make its way to the public.

Thank you! It's come a long way since the KS and I'm really happy with how the game turned out. I hope you enjoy it if get the chance to play it.

this soundtrack seriously rocks and gets stuck in my head! Intuitive gameplay is addictive and creative. Original too nice one studio stobie
